Charles Davidson, writer and editor, is a retired Presbyterian Church (USA) minister and pastoral psychotherapist. He was the Darrel Rollins Professor of Holistic Ministry in Pastoral Theology, Care, and Counseling at Virginia University of Lynchburg, as well as undergraduate professor of history, and a clinician with Pastoral Counseling Services of Central Virginia. He served pastorates in North Carolina, Florida, Georgia, and Virginia. He received degrees from Hampden-Sydney College, Union Presbyterian Seminary, and Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary. Charles is the author of Bone Dead, and Rising: Vincent van Gogh and the Self Before God (Cascade Books). His articles, essays, poetry, commentary, and educational curricula have appeared in Pastoral Psychology (1)(2), Theology Today, The Journal of Presbyterian History, Adult Discovery, Christian Education Shared Approaches, Presbyterian Outlook, Self Psychology News, and Vox Populi: A Public Sphere for Poetry, Nature, and Politics. He lives in Asheville, North Carolina.
